My papa is on the road of recovery.
My papa was suffering from Bradycardia (not sure if i got the spelling right). It is an abnormally slow or unsteady heart rhythm (usually less than 60 beats per minute) that causes symptoms such as dizziness, fainting, being extremely tired, and shortness of breath.
He fainted on Wednesday evening during shower. He was warded to NUH CCU. Things went downhill on Friday when his heart stopped for 10seconds. He was then warded to ICU.
There were lots of meetings with the group of doctors to discuss the best possible ways to save my papa. But to no avail. Just when i thought we were gonna lose him. HOPE came! One of the Senior doctor proposed a PACEMAKER (A pacemaker is an electronic device used to treat patients who have symptoms caused by abnormally slow heartbeats. A pacemaker is capable of keeping track of the patient's heartbeats. If the patient's heart is beating too slowly, the pacemaker will generate electrical signals similar to the heart's natural signals, causing the heart to beat faster. The purpose of the pacemaker is to maintain heartbeats so that adequate oxygen and nutrients are delivered through the blood to the organs of the body) to be implanted into my papa heart. Without hesitation, we signed the documents and papa was pushed in soon after.
Thank god! SMOOTH SAILING!! The operation was 100% successful! My papa is now resting in CCU. He is recovering well. So far no sign of rejection from his body. Hopefully he is able to go back to the normal ward and home.
Thank you all for your prayers! It means the world to me to have all of you showering us with so much love and concern. |
